In 1952 E.VENNEKENS started to build work and fishing vessels at his yard at Willebroek. Gradually, however and most due to the ever-increasing demand in the fifties,the yard started building small pleasure crafts,and with the move to the present yard at Boom in 1960, the switch-over to yacht building became complete. Through the years we were privileged to be involved in several special projects, being the builder of the ship for the first Dutchman to sail around the world to name one, proves the reliability of our ships. We also had the honour of building the Pilotschooner Rodeuse, this ship now sails the American waters as an US National Monument. It is not a coincidence people with the necessary experience and navigation knowledge choose a Vennekens to be their yacht like the author of "Under Omo's sails": Navel architect and yacht designer mr. Van De Wiele. And the Caribbean charter firm Ocean charter who appointed us to build their fleet. Beside building bespoke yachts, Jachtwerf Vennekens can provide a wide variety of services: Refit and general to specific maintenance of yachts up to 30m. Engineering and design services, including 2D drawings, 3D models, material specifications, documentation for classification, stability and engineering.
